Acting for Beginners Workshop

Our Acting for Beginners Workshop is an online acting workshop for beginners and those new to acting (ages 18+). Whether you've decided this career is for you, or you're just curious about acting, this course is designed to get you learning the basics, opening up, and having fun!

If you have prior training or experience, we recommend purchasing one class credit and hopping into one of our ongoing Scene Study classes; our coaches will advise you on a proper level and category of our training to begin at after the session. It's perfectly normal and advisable to start in the beginner workshop if you are revisiting acting after an extended period of time off.

Acting for Beginners is a workshop that introduces the basic concepts of performing. This course offers both an overview of how the Film & TV industry works, as well as paired & individual on-camera instruction using short scenes. It is a progressive training workshop, meaning it is designed to be repeated until you are ready for Essentials 1 | Acting On-Camera (at the discretion of our coaches).

We cover fundamental, beginner acting concepts, as well as our own unique and practical approach to memorizing and understanding scenes. Then we dive into how you overlap with character, getting out of your comfort zone, and starting to perform!

This workshop is 3-4 hours long in an online live-video format on Zoom, with adult actors (18-70+). It runs 1-2 times a month on different days. This is a progressive training workshop, meaning actors will usually repeat it more than once to level up their skills before moving into our Essentials On-Camera program.
